Easton’s essentials of a day

  • Request banana and Cheerio after getting up
  • Quote his own words, doing “nothing”, knowing “nobody”, and eating “nothing” in Daycare 9-5
  • Demand chocolate milk, water, any food available after being picked up from daycare
  • Ask why it is dark on the way home
  • Dinner at 6:30
  • Insist to go to basement (in his own words, "Easton's office") after dinner, playing cars, trains and listening to stories
  • Refuse to go to bed after playing in basement
  • Milk + Cheerio, and then finally exhausted and go to bed

Oct/Nov Jake's milestones

1.     Crawl faster, sometime too fast nowadays
2.     First meat (stewed pork rib)
3.     Pull up and stand with support
4.     Step forward with two-hand support
5.     Step forward with one-had support

Conversations with Easton (高高的童言趣语)

ready to cook a thanksgiving turkey

Easton’s daycare hosted an annual thanksgiving dinner for each kids’ family.  We all went and everyone had fun!  Easton especially liked the Turkey.  I am encouraged so much to roast a Turkey for the very first time on Thanksgiving day after being in the US for 10 years!  Thanks for my friends who had us for thanksgiving dinner over the past 9 Years!

Purchase, purchase, purchase

Finally we ordered most staff we’ve been reviewing for the past 3 weeks!  Sofa, bed, dinning table, organizer….  Never ever spent this much time, energy, emotion on buying staff!  The number of things we have to buy to build our new home in Bloomington made us start teasing ourselves what kind of life we had in NJJ  But seriously, life in NJ was happy, rewarding and memorable for me!  The process of creating a new home and life in Bloomington just started and I am enjoying yet adjusting to it!

What makes it feel home?

It is hard to believe that only 5 years made Princeton feel like home more than anywhere else!  Even more hard to believe what a simple thing like COSTCO can bring the feeling of home back.  We visited the Indy suburb Costco over the weekend and felt like being in NJ again!  Thank for the standardization and commercialization!  but truly, Princeton feels home for me because of the friends there, the casual phone calls I can make to Danchen, the random coffee breaks i take on a work day with Latrice and Danchen, an unexpected dinner-together on Friday evening just for sake of getting together......  For Easton though, Bloomington becomes his home even before he moved down here, because "Dad is in Bloomington!" (in his words).

farewell to Princeton! Hello Bloomington!

The day that we are leaving Princeton to Bloomington!  I feel extremely sad, yet exciting, yet uncertain! Easton acted extremely excited, excited, excited!
When asked “do you like Princeton better or Bloomington better?”, Easton said:” Bloomington!”

Pink + Kitty Cat? Easton's favorite at 3?!

Recently Easton claims to everyone that his favorite is Pink.  When asked “why”, he always says: " because my favorite is Pink!”.  I always ask again” why your favorite is pink?” he simply says back:" because my favorite is Pink!”

During a discussion about Halloween costume, while Anyu and TJ mentioned an impressive Cow Boy Costume they saw their friend’s son wearing, I said that I'd like Easton to be a Cow Boy next year,  Easton said:” I want to be a Kitty Cat!”
“What?! Pink + Kitty Cat!”
