Day#51 - 53: 2/27 - 3/1 weekend in berlin

left home on tuesday morning for business travel.  Tie spent the entire week with easton and jake and on friday flew from Nantes to Berlin to join me.  we had no phone, and even text messaging was disabled after the Paris connection.  So waiting at the airport at the time we communicated via email became the best and only way to welcome them to berlin.

spent Sat and Sun together in Berlin

Zoo is the must-to-go place in every city we visit

another must-to-go place is children's museum - and we visited two of them in Berlin

A little episode for the day:
We made a plan to maximize our experience in Berlin.  i spent the day with easton and jake visiting children's museums, and Tie went to museum island.  since we had only one phone, we decided to meet together at a restaurant in Alexander Plaza at 8pm in the evening - other than that, we didn't have any other way to communicate with each other during the day!
it was a raining day, and as I got off the train, my already broken phone all of a sudden lost connection - which is my only plan to find directions to the children's museum.  the only lucky part is that we are in Germany, and people speak english!  To prepare Easton and Jake, told them that mommy is scared and will need to find directions by asking people.  both of them seemed very understanding, which calmed me down a lot.  dropped in a coffee shop as first attempt to ask for directions.  People are SOOOO friendly and they pulled up their smartphone and checked out all details for me.  with that, i felt that we can work everything out for the day!  with detailed notes, we stepped out of the coffee shop and started to walk in the rain to our first stop of the day - MACHmit Museum.

MACHmit Museum
to prepare myself, i let easton and Jake play in MACHmit museu, and immediately started to ask the front desk for directions to our next step - Labyrinth museum.  TRAM is the best way and we only need to make one connection.  great! got another one worked out!  i guess overall we are lucky!

Labyrinth Museum
Easton and Jake played hard with this cloud race.

Dinner at Alexander Plaza

followed the same TRAM routes and arrived at the place where Tie and I decided to meet on time!  What an adventurous day! the traditional pork knuckle is quite interesting for Easton!
